A more than 16,000-square-foot furnished beachfront home sold Thursday for $62 million—a record for single-family residential real estate in Naples.

“Just walking by, you would not realize what masterpiece exists in this hidden gem as it sits behind private, luxury landscaping,” said Paul Arpin, the sales associate of Premier Sotheby’s International Realty’s Broad Avenue office who represented both the buyer and seller in the historic sale. Arpin previously worked with the home’s owner to find the property and build the modern estate in 2014.

“Its record-breaking sale price reflects the strength of the luxury real estate market and the enduring appeal of Naples’ Gulf-front lifestyle,” Arpin said.

The sale of 25 16th Ave. S. eclipsed the previous record for Naples homes by $10 million. That benchmark occurred last year with the $52 million sale of a Port Royal beachfront residence one mile south at 2700 Gordon Drive. The record-breaking, six-bedroom estate is on 1.5 acres off Gulf Shore Boulevard.

Designed by Randall Stofft and John Cooney of Stofft Cooney Architects, the sprawling luxury home was custom-made by Dave Rogers of Newbury North Associates Inc. in collaboration with Jeffrey Strasser from Marc-Michaels Interior Design. The architect, craftsman and designer are all based in Naples.

Exteriors by Koby Kirwin is the Naples landscape architect behind the estate’s lush surroundings, which include a first-floor pool and a second-floor infinity-edge pool with a panoramic view of the Gulf of Mexico. The home also features an exercise wing over its three-car garage and two motor courts.

The name of the new owner of the home is not available yet but the property most recently was owned by Domenic J. and Molly E. Ferrante, Collier County property records show. The Ferrantes, who relocated to Southwest Florida from the Boston area with their four children, also own a waterside home in Port Royal.

Domenic Ferrante is managing partner of The Ferrante Group and previously was a longtime managing director of Bain Capital, a private investment firm based in Boston. He is a minority owner and an executive committee member of the Boston Celtics and is also involved with the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative, Boys & Girls Club of Collier County and Community School of Naples, according to The Ferrante Group, a Naples-based firm that makes both private and public direct investments across a broad range of industries.

As co-chair and trustee of The Ferrante Family Foundation, Molly Ferrante manages the family’s philanthropic pursuits which focus primarily on broader education, environmental concerns and humanitarian assistance. She previously worked for a commercial real estate business in Chicago, according to information from The Pivotal Network by Georgetown University.
